Here at Falconry Adventures the Academy of Falconry we offer one on one tutorial, hawking and experience days, each requiring no previous training or experience. We dedicate ourselves to making your day an experience never to forget. These days offer a great opportunity to handle and fly some of our collection of hawks,falcons, owls, and eagles, in the company of one of our experienced instructors. All these sessions are available as either a standard booking or can be bought as a voucher as a truly special gift.
Hawk Walk. The hawk walk is based purely with the Harris' hawk a truly enigmatic bird of prey. The Harris' has become the most commonly flown bird of prey on the UK falconry scene in the last few decades. They are great for an introduction to birds of prey and falconry due to their amiable nature and laid back attitude. During this session you handle and fly the bird in the company of one of our instructors. Learning a little about the training, handling, and history of the sport of falconry. Falconry Adventure This is our most popular handling session with our clients. Giving the participants the chance to handle Hawk, Owl, Eagle, and Falcon under the guidance of one of our instructors. The Falconry Day The Falconry day is as the name implies a full day spent with our head falconer, and is aimed as a taster session. Allowing the participant who thinks that they would be interested in taking up the sport of falconry the opportunity to explore deeper. Whilst this session has plenty of hands on flying, it also contains the answers to the question 'Is falconry for me' . Showing the very basics of handling, housing feeding and the law. This session does not cover enough detail to be used as a course with view to ownership, but delves much deeper into the subject than a normal public aimed experience day. Hunting Sessions Hunting sessions are available with our team of hawks during the hawking season running from September to February each year. The standard session is based with our team of Harris' hawks in pursuit of ground game and possibly game birds in season. Full handling tuition is taught before we enter the hawking field, though our instructor will be at hand to aid throughout your day. We use one of our own hunting grounds based on the farm for these sessions where if your lucky you may even witness wild Buzzards, Red Kites and some of the more commonly seen birds of prey. Witness and emerse yourself in the art of falconry, and the partnership between hawk and man. Duration 6hrs (Lunch Included) £140 per person (A truly memorable Gift)

All Experience, Tutorial, and hawking days are available to clients aged 14+ (!4-16 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times). No specialist clothing is required, though sensible outdoor country foot wear and appropriate coats etc are advisable especially during the hawking season (September - February).
